Dr. David Voorhees, will present a program on women’s issues for the Hendrick Hudson Chapter NSDAR, Robert Jenkins House, 113 Warren St. Hudson, N.Y on March 27, 2017. The topic of the program is: “Women of the Late 17th Century N.Y. Politics”.
Voorhees, a well known historian of Dutch language and culture in the Hudson Valley, is the Director/Editor of the Jacob Leisler Papers Project a prestigious collection of more that 3000 documents focusing on the Leisler family and their relationship with the Atlantic World and the administration of N.Y. an era spanning from 1660 through 1691.
Voorhees has served as managing editor of de Halve Maen, a scholarly journal, devoted to New Netherland studies, published by The Holland Society of New York.
Robert Jenkins House Doors will open at 1:00PM. The program begins about 1:30PM, immediately following a brief chapter business meeting.
The Hendrick Hudson Chapter NSDAR takes pride in its’ afternoon tea and reception tradition at the conclusion of each monthly program. March hostesses are: Chairperson, Margie Laurie, Virginia Winnie and Mary Melius.
