HUDSON — The Columbia County Board of Elections announced completion of the city voter database realignment Tuesday, the board said in a statement.
The realignment was done in compliance with Proposition 1: “A Local Law to Amend the Boundaries of the Wards of the City of Hudson and Voting Procedure of its Common Council,” a charter amendment city voters approved in November’s election, according to the statement.
Effective Jan. 1, city ward boundaries were changed to reflect five wards, divided equally by number of residents, according to Proposition 1, which is available on the city website.
Since the ward boundaries changed, the county Board of Elections had to make sure the city election districts reflected the new boundaries, Democratic Commissioner Virginia Martin said Wednesday.
