Last week the Village of Kinderhook welcomed its newest food establishment, Eat. Sip. Smile. This cozy and inviting cafe offers delicious, homemade, wholesome breakfast and lunch food for the health conscious and also offers more traditional choices for those who prefer, as owner Carrie Walsh says, “to indulge.” The menu offers down-home comfort food and features homemade baked goods, including raw, gluten-free selections.
As Stuyvesant born and raised chef Carrie Walsh says, her goal is to provide a “comfortable, welcoming environment that caters to the community, visitors, children, and adults.” Talk with Carrie for a few minutes and her enthusiasm and passion for fresh food, healthy living, and fitness becomes infectious.
For those looking for a healthy, tasty, fresh-juice fix, Eat. Sip. Smile has a juice bar where front-house manager and health coach Melissa Guzman mixes up vegetable-and-fruit juice mixes and smoothies made of organic and locally sourced (when available) ingredients.
Carrie and her crew are planning to offer more than just food at their Kinderhook location. They hope in the near future to begin offering a full menu of healthy lifestyle classes as well. Coming soon will be evening classes featuring yoga and painting instruction.
