Ancram Opera House is pleased to announce its 2017 summer season.

Things start up in June with the third edition of REAL PEOPLE REAL STORIES, a much-loved storytelling program featuring local residents.

In July, Ancram Opera House is honored to host Frank Boyd and the TEAM’s production of THE HOLLER SESSIONS, an explosive paean (and NY Times Critic’s Pick) to American jazz, just prior to performances at the Guthrie Theater in Minneapolis.

That tour-de-force performance is followed by another in August: playwright Young Jean Lee’s WE’RE GONNA DIE, a surprisingly life-affirming and quirky show about the inevitable that’s part indie/pop rock cabaret, part storytelling, part stand-up.

Also in August, BARB JUNGR, the acclaimed cabaret performer noted for her revelatory interpretations of Bob Dylan and Leonard Cohen comes to Ancram Opera House for one-night only.

And, in September, Ancram Opera House offers the very first look at an exciting new project, PERFORMING OLANA, a site-specific performance taking place on the grounds of Olana, that celebrates Frederic Church and draws inspiration from the artist’s painting, life, letters and our celebrated Hudson Valley landscape.

“These shows capture the very essence of the new Ancram Opera House—work that we find immediate, fresh, and innovative,” say directors Jeff Mousseau and Paul Ricciardi.

Before then, a couple of spots are still available in a Spring Acting workshop–VOICE FOR THE ACTOR–on May 20 & 21. Designed for anyone with an interest: all are welcome regardless of experience level.
