Local churches and ministers of the GOD Belongs In Our County collaborative are sponsoring two Weekend celebrations of the Gospel free and open to the public. If you don’t know what the Gospel is, come and find out. If you do, we know you don’t want to miss this. We’re not talking about a “boring church service”. This will be a two day lively celebration of GOD’s Love for humanity! Sunday, September 19, 2021, is National Back to Church Sunday, and our theme is “HOPE IS HERE”! In addition we bless the start of a new school year with Back to School Sunday, recognizing our hope for the future in our students, school staff and all their families.

You’re invited to this outdoor Sunday Service. It begins at 2PM at the Greenport Town Park, 714 Joslen Boulevard, with the GBIOC cover band, the Sweet Life Music Project preparing the way. Highlighting the message of Hope will be the dynamic testimony and preaching of local Minister Naheem Billips and the high energy and lyrical messaging of Christian Hip/Hop artist “Rizzo” coming back by popular request. Prayer partners will be available throughout the day to pray with and for you.

This Gospel feast is set to provide good food for the body as well as the soul even if you don’t “go to church”. And, thanks to donors and sponsors (names to be announced) it’s all free. At 3 p.m., together with Got Game Sports and Don Krapf, a Softball Exhibition game with members from our local law enforcement agencies joining in for fun will be held. At 4pm a showcase of Basketball skills and drills, and a basketball contest or two are part of the family fun. Dance Diversity will bring everyone to the floor who wants to learn the “ BOB (Blessing on Blessing) Bounce line dance, and children can laugh and enjoy the art of Face Painting. There will be free hot dogs, burgers and beverages, and a build your own Sundae bar courtesy of Stewarts. As the celebration draws to a close, Students will receive a Blessing Bag to help them have a great school year. There will also be information tables available from the NYS Family Benevolent Services, Viva Las Virtual Pre-School Program, and others with a mission to assist families to meet their upward goals. Free Senior ID cards will be available from the Sheriff’s dept.

As the Scripture says, “Hope will not leave us disappointed . . . The second Weekend celebration is Saturday, September 25th starting with the annual Parade and March for JESUS Prayer Walk. Lineup at the Seventh Street Park in Hudson begins at 1PM step off is at 2PM. A procession of music, marchers and floats will travel down Warren Street with Prayer stops along the way to the Henry Hudson Riverfront Park.

The invitation is extended to our Columbia County community, neighbors, and visitors to join us at the table prepared for us all – at the Seventh Street Park, or to watch and wave along the parade route, and/or at the Open Air Gospel Service at the Riverfront Park at 3PM. If you’ve not heard the word of GOD preached by Rev. Dr. Shanell Turpin, Prophet Emmanuel Davis, or Pastor Kim L. Singletary, or the music ministry of Anointed Hands, you won’t want to miss your blessing. And of course the Sweet Life Music Project will be there playing to the Glory of GOD.

There will be free refreshments and the GOD Belongs in Our County – New 2 U Pop Up Boutique of free new and like new clothing.

If you would like more information or want to make a donation of new or like new Fall/Winter clothing, or to help offset the costs for these two days, contact GOD Belongs in Our County at 518-653-2008. Leave a message, and your call will be returned.

And, bring a friend, your family, blankets, chairs. HOPE IS HERE!
