It was only four years ago that Cynthia arrived in Philmont and was featured in Welcome to Claverack in OURTOWN, but she had lived in Columbia County for many years before and was represented by BCB Art in Hudson. She had a long, impressive career as a mixed-media artist. Her work was exhibited all over the US, reviewed in the NY Times and the recipient of numerous grants, including one from the Pollock-Krasner Foundation. She was perhaps best known for mural collages made with American Indian canoe skins. Sadly, she died on April 20 at Columbia Memorial Hospital.
