Singer, songwriter and stage performer, Cassidy A. Maze, a Palenville native, led a stellar local professional and amateur cast, all chosen by award-winning writer and lyricist, Sandra Dutton ( http://www.sandradutton.com ), and award-winning composer and music director — who has composed for and played with James Taylor and Dave Brubeck, among others, — Scott Petito (www.scottpetitoproductions.com), to mount the premiere of their new musical, J.A.M.O.T. The musical is choreographed by Rachel Kappel.
The musical sold-out its opening performance Thursday night. And the theatre reports it expects the Friday performance to sell-out also. When young schoolgirl Meg is told by her caring and worried grandmother that “she has lost her curiosity,” she is propelled into a world where Time has disappeared, knocked out in a fight with the Lop-Eared Rabbit. Meg is tasked by the desperate characters in this world to “find Time” before it completely runs out and everything disappears. Cassidy A. Maze who plays “Meg” is the stage name and pen name of local artist/activist Cassidy Bua. Wife to Matt Bua, and mama to daughter Louise, 9, and proud stepmom to Piper, 7. Cassidy in her “past life” she was recording artist Lizzie West for Warner Bros. and Appleseed Records. Her songs have been featured in films, T.V. and radio throughout the world.
