It’s INTERNATIONAL DAY OF THE GIRL! How are you celebrating?
In 2012 the United Nations General Assembly adopted a resolution declaring October 11th as the International Day of the Girl to recognize girls’ rights and the unique challenges girls face around the world.
With Her: A Skilled GIRLForce
According to the UN, this year,
“…International Day of the Girl will mark the beginning of a year-long effort to bring together partners and stakeholders to advocate for, and draw attention and investments to, the most pressing needs and opportunities for girls to attain skills for employability.”
At PERFECT TEN, we are committed to preparing all girls for their futures. This year we launched a “Ready, Set, Go” initiative, which includes a job training, a money management workshop, and apprenticeships around Hudson. We also have a new and improved STEM program, working in collaboration with Bard’s Center for Civic Engagement to get girls inspired to enter STEM related fields.
We are invested in girls and their futures, are you?
If you’re wondering what you can do today to help fight for gender justice, here are a few simple ideas:
1. Make a DONATION to PERFECT TEN, the only place for girls in Hudson, NY.
We need your support! Education is the key to empowering women and girls and ending oppression.
2. Become a MENTOR or TUTOR!
We always welcome women from our community to be a part of our GIRLforce. Join us- mentorship matters!
