Hudson Area Library and The Greater Hudson Promise Neighborhood are proud to announce a special High Five! Saturday, February 17, 11am – 1pm.

Kathy Mabb our High Five! facilitator will be focusing on Science picture books during our Story Hour and offering a follow-up discussion with High Five! families about simple science activities that help children with reading skills.
Kathy Mabb has been an early childhood educator for 30 years. She directed a tri-county teen parent education program for over ten years and is currently a Head Start teacher. She has been working with the library with early childhood programs including High Five! and is a published author in the Chicken Soup series.

After the discussion families can choose free children’s books and there will be a lunch of mac ‘n cheese and salad and a field trip to Spotty Dog Books with families who have regular attendance in High Five! receiving a $25 gift certificate to spend on books.

In the High Five! program, families with a child, birth to five, can join a supportive community and learn fun, everyday activities to help build their child’s reading skills! Older siblings are welcome in the library during the program. Participants will receive free books and prizes each week! Lunch is also provided and transportation to the library is available.

The last Saturday ends with a field trip to Spotty Dog Books with each family that has participated in the program receiving a $25 gift certificate to spend at the store.
