HUDSON, NY – On the heels of the Administration announcing its latest budget proposal, U.S. Representative Antonio Delgado (NY-19) will be holding an interactive federal budget workshop on Tuesday afternoon at Columbia-Greene Community College.

Community members of all ages are invited to join Delgado, who will kick off the event by addressing current budget challenges and the national debt. The event will be held in partnership with the Concord Coalition—a nonpartisan organization that focuses on addressing the unsustainable national debt—who will facilitate the interactive workshop in which participants will work together in small groups to create their own federal budget.

“As is all too apparent in the latest budget proposed by the Administration, too many in Washington are willing to turn a blind eye to the rising federal debt, instead continuing to give tax breaks to the wealthy few while cutting programs that support communities here at home. That’s irresponsible, and we need to address this problem head-on,” Delgado said. “As we continue as a nation to address the challenge of our rising debt, this workshop will give participants the opportunity to create their own federal budget and get an in-depth understanding what goes into it.”
