Antonio and Lacey Delgado to speak at Women March On! Hudson, January 19
HUDSON: Women March On! Hudson, the third annual march of women, and men who love women, in resistance to racism, sexism, anti-semitism, nationalism, fascism, homophobia and xenophobia, will take place on Saturday, January 19, 2019 at 1 pm.
Produced by Indivisible CD19 NY, in collaboration with local and regional co-sponsors, Women March On! Hudson 2019 will benefit the new Upper Hudson Planned Parenthood Center in Hudson. Marchers will gather at Seventh Street Park at 12:30 pm. At 1 pm sharp, they will follow Tin Horn Uprising and red-cloaked handmaids down Warren Street to the base of Promenade Hill for a rally led by a lineup of extraordinary local and regional elected women officials and activist leaders. We are honored to have our new Congressman Antonio Delgado (D-NY19) and his wife, filmmaker Lacey Schwartz Delgado as keynote speakers
“We have had great successes in 2018 to celebrate, and an ambitious agenda to execute in 2019 and 2020,” says Gianni Ortiz, co-founder of Indivisible CD19-NY. “We need to march on, which means call, write, rally, sign, donate, educate, canvas, vote and help others to get out and vote. We will turn the tide, but only if we can count on each and every one of you to stand up and speak out.”
Leading up to the Delgados will be Didi Barrett, NYS Assemblymember (D-AD106);; Debra Clinton, Founder, Move Forward New York; Krystal Ford, Citizens Climate Lobby (NY-18), Tiffany Garriga, Hudson Common Council Majority Leader; Chelly Hegan, Executive Director, Upper Hudson Planned Parenthood; and Jabin Ahmed Ruhii, Co-Founder and President, Hudson Muslim Youth.
Waiting for the thousands of marchers expected to arrive at the bottom of Warren Street, will be music by Hudson Dusters and Cassidy A. Maze & friends(, food by Nosh and Wildfire and hot drinks. Rick & Marilyn will make music in Seventh Street Park before the march kicks off.
Indivisible CD19 NY is joined in resistance by co-sponsors March On! Hudson Valley, Club Helsinki Hudson, IMBY, Move Forward New York, Hudson Valley Votes, Basilica Hudson, Claverack Democrats, and Columbia County Democrats.
Because we can’t do this alone.
