Valatie Santa Claus Club
“First in the Nation”, the Valatie Santa Claus Club was founded in 1946, to make sure every child up to and including age ten in the Village of Valatie receives a visit from Santa.
All of this happens in the very village (Valatie) where Virginia O’Hanlon Douglas, of “Yes, Virginia there is a Santa Claus” fame spent her last days. The little girl who was looking for the spirit of Christmas and the existence of Santa, found them both, alive and well, in Valatie, New York.
