Stop NY Fracked Gas Pipeline is sponsoring a Renewable Energy Fair Saturday, October 29, 2016 from 10 am-3 pm, at Maple Hill High School, 1216 Maple Hill Rd, Castleton-On-Hudson, NY 12033. Visit and learn how to save money, save energy and save the planet.

At the Fair, there will be about 40 exhibitors providing a one-stop shopping opportunity for answering all one’s energy-related questions, and thereby showing one how to reduce one’s carbon footprint. There will also be children’s activities and food. In addition to exhibitors there will be a series of 15-minute presentations on different topics. Admission and parking are free.

Environmentally conscious political figures from all persuasions have been invited and, thus far, one can expect visits by US Representative Paul Tonko, US Representative candidate Zephyr Teachout, and candidate for NYS Senate, Shaun Francis, Rensselaer and Albany County officials, along with numerous Schodack, Castleton, and Nassau, NY dignitaries.

The following expertise will be available at the Fair:

Look at, compare and test drive 12 electric vehicles.

Learn about how to use geothermal heat and heat pumps to reduce your heating costs.

Talk to companies that sell and lease solar power.

Find out if your property is good for wind power.

Charge your cell phone in a solar van full of solar interactive educational displays.

Come see how a wind turbine works.

Sign a petition.

See what local environmental groups are doing to reduce reliance on fossil fuels and how you can become involved.

Don’t have enough sun at your house, find out about buying solar panel from a solar farm or switching your electric provider to one that provides wind and solar energy.

Learn what you can do to put pressure on our elected officials to speed up our transition to renewable energy and away from fossil fuels.

Learn about a variety of ways you can better insulate your home to reduce your energy costs.

Find out how to invest in renewables and divest from fossil fuels.

Learn about free energy audits and electric company rebates.

Pet an alpaca, bounce in a bouncy house, create a dinosaur mask or make an environmental poster.

Look at a solar boat and find out how it was built.
