WinterWalk and Winter Parade

The Valatie Economic Redevelopment Association (V.E.R.A.), the Village of Valatie, and the Valatie Santa Claus Club, are proud to sponsor the Annual WinterWalk and Winter Parade in and along Main Street, Valatie TODAY, Saturday, December 14th from 5 until 9 pm.
The PARADE BEGINS AT 5PM, and will be populated by holiday-festooned firetrucks and rescue vehicles from several local fire departments, as well as carolers from regional organizations, and parade-stopping performances from KJ’s Gymnastics and OK Kids. A classical feature of Valatie’s winter parade is Santa Claus riding through the village on his sleigh.
Santa Claus and Mrs. Claus accompanied by our Winter Parade will ring in festivities throughout the village. Shop at our stores, sample holiday food and enjoy live music and entertainment until 9 pm.
Grand Marshall of the 2019 Valatie WinterWalk & Winter Parade: ART FEINS !!
A Living Nativity will be performed at 6:30 pm on the lawn of the National Historic Landmark First Presbyterian Church of Valatie located on Church Street (behind Main Street).
A variety of live musical performance will include rock’n’roll by Side Show Willie and acoustic guitar by Steve Engel and acoustical rock by the McDermott Duo; Singer-Songwriters Abby Lappen, guitar/vocals by Marilyn Miller and classical harp music by Dawn Danis.
Carolers will meander at various indoor and outdoor venues during the evening’s festivities! !
Santa will park his sleigh for the evening at the Valatie Community Theatre on Main Street, where he will listen to kids’ Wish Lists. Helderberg Marionettes and Roger the Jester, will entertain kids at the Senior Center, where John Farrel | Hope River Music will give performances of their holiday productions. Face-painting!
Snap some pictures with Santa and winter-time views of our fabulous waterfalls, and do some holiday shopping with our artisans and at the eclectic mix of stores in our charming and historic village.
Village shops are open teeming with homemade cookies, hot cocoa, and other holiday goodies, along Main Street and Route 9—or stay in the village for dinner at one of our local cafés, grills and restaurants.
