Sheffield, Mass. — Berkshire Taconic Community Foundation today announced the fourth and final round of deadlines for competitive grants in 2016. Covering the period from September 15 through December 31, the fall cycle of deadlines is open to regional nonprofits, schools and individuals.

The Wassermann-Streit Y’diyah Memorial Fund supports projects that encourage learning about Judaism and dispel religious intolerance. Grants of up to $500 will be awarded. Applications are due November 1.

Four education enrichment funds will award grants to school districts in Columbia County this fall. Grants between $100 and $5,000 will support extracurricular projects that inspire and engage students: field trips; building projects; artists in residence; travel grants for clubs; robotics and nutrition programs; and more. Application deadlines for each fund are listed below:

• Chatham Education Foundation for Chatham Central School District: October 20
• Hudson Schools Arts and Humanities Fund for Hudson City School District: October 20
• New Lebanon Arts and Humanities Fund for New Lebanon School District: October 21
• Taconic Hills Arts and Humanities/Education Enrichment Fund for Taconic Hills Central School District: September 15

The Sean Patrick French Memorial Fund awards annual scholarships to three Chatham High School seniors: $2,000 to a senior who demonstrates leadership through community service and good sportsmanship, and is enrolled at a two- or four-year college, trade or technical school; $1,000 to a senior who participates in varsity track and field or cross country running; and $1,000 to a senior who was selected by New York State Public High School Athletic Association Section II coaches as the Good Sportsmanship Award winner. The Tupelo Award Fund provides grants of up to $1,000 to Berkshire County residents ages 16 to 36 to research a topic of demonstrated interest. Applications are due October 15.
