Although area cinemas are reopening Friday, most Capital Region film fans are not yet ready to return to movie theaters.

Reflecting consumer attitudes nationwide, a poll taken on the Table Hopping blog on timesunion.com earlier this week drew more than 530 responses in two days and found that nearly two-thirds of respondents, or 64 percent, said they would not patronize movie theaters until “after a proven vaccine has been widely administered, including to me.”

nother 14 percent said they didn’t expect to go out for a movie-and-popcorn night at a theater until some point in the first six months of next year, though 9 percent indicated the intention to go within a week of the reopening.
